After a long day of tourism, fishing, and fun in the sun in this southern Florida fishing town, you might just feel like it’s time for a drink (or two … maybe three?). Not to fear — of the many restaurants in Destin FL, there’s a range of options when it comes to cocktails.
The Beach Walk Cafe is a fine dining option with a direct view of the Emerald Coast’s stunning blue-green waters. The wine list includes a wide selections of Cabernets from Napa Valley, as well as champagne and imported wines from Europe, South America, and Australia. Secure your reservation by calling 850-650-7100.
For a kid-friendly place that also includes a bar, try Fudpucker’s at 20001 Emerald Coast Pkwy. The main appeal for small children may be the possibility of seeing the locale’s live gators — it’s safe to say that of the many restaurants in Destin FL, this may be the only one that includes this kind of animal attraction.
The full Fudpucker experience includes special shows in which the gators are fed, as well as other shows with a more educational angle. The most famous of the Fudpucker gators is Peal, one of just 50 albino alligators in the U.S.
Once the adults have had enough of the gators, Fudpucker drink options — or “whistle-wetters,” as they are known — include strawberry daquiris, the “Fudwacker” (a mix of coffee liqueur, ice cream, and dark rum), their take on the margarita and the bloody mary, known as the “Fudpuckerita” and “The Ultimate Bloodyfudder,” respectively.
Elsewhere in Destin, try the Hog’s Breath Saloon, known for its cold beers and sandwich selection. It’s known as a popular hangout for football game nights, and is also available to rent for special events.
Additionally, the saloon has a gift shop featuring all kinds of memorabilia adorned with its logo.
